Supercross has wrapped up its SMX World Championship schedule after the race in Salt Lake City this past weekend. A total of 17 rounds were raced in the season, and now three champions have been crowned.
In the 450 Main Event, Chase Sexton rode a great race, leading to his seventh win of the season. Cooper Webb needed to finish fifth or higher to hold on to his points lead and win the championship. He finished fourth, holding onto his title.
Malcolm Stewart had a season that showed great progression, which was shown again this weekend with his second-place finish. Justin Cooper finished with a solid race in third place.
In the 450 class, Webb became a three-time Supercross champion. He is now in an elite group: There are now seven racers who have won three or more 450 premier class Supercross championships.
Sexton finished second in the title fight, only two points behind Webb. Cooper finished third in the championship in his sophomore season.
In the 250 East class, Tom Vialle won the championship and now is a back-to-back 250 East Coast champion. He will have to move up to the 450 class for the 2026 Supercross season now.
Seth Hammaker finished second in the points, three behind Vialle. RJ Hampshire finished third in the championship.
In the 250 West championship, Haiden Deegan won his first career 250 Supercross title. Julien Beaumer finished second, and rookie Cole Davies finished third.
In the 250 East/West Shootout, Deegan took a dominating win with Beaumer in second and Vialle in third.
Davies and Jordon Smith did not race, after a nasty collision during qualifying sent them both to the hospital. During the shootout, Hammaker was on track to win after passing Vialle, but Hampshire came on the inside of Hammaker. This led to both of them wrecking, and they handed the championship to Vialle.
The SMX World Championship now will take a weekend off. But next weekend, Pro Motocross starts in Pala, Calif. The racers will be battling in round one of 11 of the Pro Motocross championship at Fox Raceway.
