The girls lacrosse team lost to Upper St Clair 19-4 on Wednesday.
Senior Alexa Sherman knew it would be tough going into the game.
“We lacked some confidence because they won sections, so we knew it was going to be a very tough game,” Sherman said
She identified some areas where the Highlanders could have played better.
“We have to work on defense more, especially sliding and communication,” she said.
Despite the loss, Sherman said the team had several strong points. She was pleased with some of the team’s plays during the game.
“We did a good job slowing it down on offense,” Sherman said. “We also worked the ball around to create scoring opportunities, which is something we’ve been focusing on in practice.”
Sherman also gave praise to one of her teammates, junior Olivia O’Malley.
“She played really aggressively, which benefited the entire team,” Sherman said.
