The Baldwin baseball team lost 7-1 to Canon-Mac on Wednesday.
Canon-Mac took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning. Baldwin did not get on the scoreboard until the sixth inning, but Canon-Mac had six runs by that time. Baldwin wasn’t able to come back for the win.
Defensively, the Highlanders were strong, but their game lacked on offense, senior Brady Caplan said.
“We didn’t have any errors in the field and were able to make the routine plays,” Caplan said. “We didn’t generate a whole lot at the plate,”
Despite the loss, freshman Hudson Mckain played well for the Highlanders.
“He was able to put the ball in play hard,” Caplan said.
In their next game, Baldwin will look to leave fewer runners on base and piece together more hits to generate runs, Caplan said.
Their next game will be their first playoff game, with the date and opponent still to be determined.
