In this Purbalite Podcast, Editors Josephine Wysocki, Anne Hampton, Arpan Basnet, and McKinley Beech discuss looks at the 2025 Met Gala. The theme of this years Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with a dress code of “Tailored for You.” Here is a quick look at each of our favorite outfits:
Multimedia Editor Arpan Basnet: Colman Domingo’s outfit was the best, in my opinion, because of the way he mixes different pieces to create a timeless outfit. The way he mixes multiple patterns and accessories makes his outfit stand out from others.
News Editor Josephine Wysocki: Diana Ross had the best outfit this year. It was Ross’s first time at the Met Gala since 2003, and her return did not disappoint. The intricate detail and feathers on the dress train tie in with her headpiece and wrap the entire look together.
News Editor Anne Hampton: Laura Harrier was the best dressed this year. She combined staying true to the theme while incorporating her own style. Additionally, her hair and makeup pulled her outfit together and overall made a cohesive look.
Multimedia Editor McKinley Beech: Andre 3000 stole the show with his eye catching outfit. The fact that he was actively promoting his album but looking classy at the same time is impressive to say the least.
