The boys volleyball team fell 3-1 to Mt. Lebanon in the senior rec match on Tuesday.
Sophomore Donovan Kaecher said Lebo did well keeping their performance consistent throughout the sets. Many of the sets were close, though.
“The first set was really close, we came back but they got us,” he said.
However, Baldwin continued to fight and came back to win the second set.
“The second set, we beat them by almost 10 points, and the rest were also close,” Kaecher said.
Junior Brayden Gremba agreed that the team continued to play strong, though they could have had stronger communication and defense.
“We stayed competitive the whole game,” Gremba said.
Additionally, Gremba said senior Anjal Gurung and freshman Rohan Bhattarai stood out and played well.
Despite the loss, he said that Baldwin improved from the last time they had played Mt. Lebanon.
Over the course of the season, Kaecher said the team as a whole has gotten better. They are now fourth in the section.
“We’ve all gotten better with team chemistry,” he said.
Gremba also said they have improved significantly as the season progressed.
“We did start 0-7, so being able to bounce back from that is really good,” he said. “If we keep playing how we’re playing right now we should be all right.”
The team hopes to continue improving and hopefully secure a spot in the playoffs, Gremba said.
