Baldwin’s softball team beat Connellsville 8-0 Tuesday night.
Senior Ryley Shaw said the team hit well from the start of the game.
“We started hitting from the very beginning instead of trying to come back later on, which is something we’ve been working on,” Shaw said.
Junior Reese Temme had a great game, Shaw said.
“Reese played really well. She had the most hits out of all of us, and she had a home run,” Shaw said.
Senior Gabby Jaquay and freshman Camryn Temme also hit home runs for Baldwin, Shaw said.
This win was a great game for the whole team, she said.
“Everyone played really well, and this win felt great,” Shaw said. “Hopefully we can continue to play well like we did last night.”
Moving forward, the team could still improve on keeping its composure.
“We need to focus on controlling the controllables,” Shaw said. “We need to work on not arguing against calls.”
The team has had an impressive season so far, compiling a record of 11-3. The team’s playoff hopes are still strong, as the team has greatly improved compared to previous years.
The team’s next game is away tonight at Bethel Park at 4 p.m.
