The Baldwin boys lacrosse team lost to Trinity, 16-2.
Baldwin kept the game close, with Trinity holding only a 2-0 lead after the first period. Both teams had a solid defensive start.
In the second period, the Highlanders got on the board but were trailing Trinity 6-1 going into the half. After halftime, Trinity started heating up on offense and pulled away from Baldwin for the rest of the game.
Despite the loss, senior Trevor Brain did well.
“He dodged well when he had the chance and came up with one of our only goals,” senior Gavin Serafini said.
Also scoring for Baldwin was senior Teegan Berry.
Going into the next game, the Highlanders look to make some improvements.
“We need to work on transitioning the ball to give our offense more chances,” junior Evan Sparza said. “Our offense needs more possession but also needs to hold on to the ball longer instead of throwing it away, to give our defense a break.”
Serafini also cited some needed areas the team needs to work on.
“We need to win more ground ball battles and work on being more fluent in our passing and catching,” he said.
Their next game is on Thursday against Plum at home.
