The Baldwin girls softball team came up with a pair of wins over the weekend, taking down Albert Gallatin by a score of 17-0 on Friday and Bethel Park 5-3 on Saturday.
The wins bring their record 5-0 in the section and 9-1 overall.
Junior Reese Temme said she is proud of the team because of their recent successes.
“I am so proud to see how much we are succeeding and I can’t wait to continue to see us perform well,” Temme said.
For the Bethel Park game, Temme said three players stood out for Baldwin.
“Cam Temme pitched a really good game and Ryley Shaw and Jordan Gerendash hit extremely well, with multiple hits each,” Temme said.
Although Baldwin won, Temme said the game should not have been that close. They weren’t playing their absolute best but still came out on top, she said.
In the Albert Gallatin game on Friday, both Temmes came up with a home run.
“We hit really well,” Cam Temme said.
Baldwin had nine runs in the first inning, giving them a good edge to begin the game. Cam Temme said sophomore Melina Defelice had a strong day on the mound.
“She pitched really well and was able to shut them down,” Temme said.
Although the team has been doing exceptionally well, they have some tough match-ups this week, including a game against Thomas Jefferson, the reigning state champs.
The team’s next game is tonight at home against Trinity.
