The Marvel Rivals esports team defeated I.C. Norcom out of Virginia 3-0 on Thursday in the second round of the playoffs.
Head Coach Nathan Elias thought the team did really well in the round of 32 playoff matchup.
“Our team did well in communicating, especially in tense moments,” Elias said. “I was impressed thinking about how far along the communication has come in some of these overtime, stressful situations.”
As the team moves on, the matches will become progressively more difficult.
“We will play Lambert. They finished fourth place in the season with a record of 7-1,” Elias said. “It will surely be a tough match.”
As the team prepares for the next round, they will keep working to improve.
“For next week, we need to improve some of our secondary characters so we have a bit of an easier time dealing with targeted bans,” Elias said.
The team will move on to the round of 16 to face Lambert out of Georgia next Monday.
