The girls lacrosse team lost to Bethel Park, 16-7, in a section game on Wednesday.
Senior Milana Winowich praised Bethel’s fast breaks as one of the keys to their win. The Highlanders, meanwhile, know what they need to work on, she said.
“We need to work on our defense, and draw control,” Winowich said.
Baldwin stayed strong in the first half, trailing by just two goals, but the Highlanders struggled in the second half.
“We didn’t think we had a very good chance at winning going into the game, but by the first half we were only down by two. So we thought we had a chance, but then towards the end it went downhill,” Winowich said.
Senior Aliza Very said junior Olivia O’Malley stood out on defense.
“Olivia O’Malley was making opportunities for herself and her defense was locked down,” Very said.
Senior Addison Giglione also shined with over 20 saves, Winowich said.
The Highlanders’ next game is at home against Hempfield on Monday.
