Disney and Nickelodeon shows can be looked down upon because the acting and writing are not always phenomenal, but these series have provided a start for many popular stars.
Ariana Grande, Dove Cameron, Zendaya, and Sabrina Carpenter all got a shot in show business due to these shows. Not only have these performers had successful acting careers, but some have also made it pretty big in the music industry.
Grande, for example, started out on the TV show Victorious. Although she was not the main focal point of the show, people fell in love with her. Her voice captured people, and that helped her become well known.
Grande has gone on to produce six studio albums and has won two Grammys. She also has starred in the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked, for which she has received praise and recognition. In an outstanding performance, she really embodies every aspect of the character she portrays.
Carpenter has followed a similar path. She was on the Disney reboot show Girl Meets World, and she played the best friend role. The script for this series was not the best, but Carpenter did what she could with it.
She has gone on to produce six albums, and she is currently selling out stadiums on tour.
Cameron, meanwhile, was on multiple hit productions on Disney, such as the Descendants movies and Liv and Maddie. Cameron played both Liv and Maddie and did a very good job, while the Descendants movies are really popular with all kinds of kids
Cameron has had a few hit songs since then that also have gone viral on TikTok. She also won a People’s Choice Award in 2023.
Zendaya also got her start on the show Shake It Up, and then she proceeded to star on K.C. Undercover. While that latter show is not as bad as some other kids series, the storylines were cheesy. But she and the other actors did a good job for what they were given.
Since then, Zendaya has been in numerous movies. She won an Emmy as well a Golden Globe for her performance on the television show Euphoria.
While not all teen actors have been able to turn roles in kids shows into full careers, some have used these platforms as stepping stones to great success.
