As the madness of March starts to take over and sports fans begin completing their brackets, all eyes turn to the stars who could steal the show.
From seasoned veterans looking to cement their legacies to breakout freshmen ready to make a name on the biggest stage, March Madness 2025 is stacked with talent. These are the players who could define this year’s tournament, and maybe even carry their teams on Cinderella runs or championship quests.
Freshman Cooper Flagg, from Duke, is statistically the best player in college basketball right now. He is 6 feet, 9 inches, he can play like a guard and a big at the same time, and yet he can block shots consistently.
He had been projected to be the face of college basketball this season, and he did not disappoint. He led Duke to a 28-3 record, and the Blue Devils are considered one of the top teams in the country.
He sprained his ankle in the ACC tournament, but the X-ray came back negative and he is likely going to be back for March Madness. He might not play to his full ability, but he is a great player and sports fans can’t wait to watch him play in the tournament.
Senior Johni Broome, from Auburn, is right behind Cooper, averaging 18.6 points per game behind Cooper’s 19.4. Both of these players’ teams are among the best in the NCAA tournament and have a big chance of winning the whole thing.
Broome is a phenomenal rebounder who can also shoot the three ball. He is leading his team in points per game and sports fans can’t wait to watch him dominate in the tournament.
Another great player whom tournament fans need to look out for is junior RJ Luis Jr., from St. John’s University.
Luis can score at any level, from the three ball to driving in for a contested layup. His teammates know they can trust this 6 feet 7 inch forward to score when the team needs it most. Luis is averaging 18.1 points per game and has helped St John’s become one of the top teams in the country.
