Baldwin’s girls basketball team defeated Bethel Park 48-42 Friday in the first round of the WPIAL consolation bracket.
Sophomore Lynsey Bernotas was happy with the Highlanders’ game.
“We were able to pass the ball really well, and we had a pretty good defense,” Bernotas said. “We really played hard and worked together … everyone was able to do their part.”
Shutting down Bethel’s offense was key, she said.
“We were able to stop their best players, which really helped us,” Bernotas said.
There are also things that the team can improve on for the next matchup.
“We can always be better at talking to each other while on defense,” she said.
Baldwin moves on to play at Penn-Trafford at 7 p.m. Tuesday to determine the final seeding for states.
