The Baldwin girls basketball team defeated Albert Gallatin on Tuesday, 60-30.
Sophomore Kelsey Meyer said Baldwin did well with teamwork.
“We did a good job sharing the ball and executing plays when they were called,” Meyer said.
Junior guard Bella Niles agreed, as Baldwin held the lead for most of the game. She also said Albert Gallatin did well keeping a positive attitude throughout the game and hustling.
Meyer said sophomore Lynsey Bernotas stood out for the Highlanders, starting their momentum in the game.
“Lynsey had our first couple of points,” Meyer said. “She also shared the ball well while still attacking the hoop strong.”
Niles said that junior Jules Ott also played very well.
“She scored four threes (three-point shots) and really kept the floor balanced,” she said.
Despite the win, Meyer says the team still has improvements to work on.
“We need to focus on communication and boxing out more,” Meyer said. “We need to focus on our upcoming games and execute the game plans.”
The team is now 10-8 overall and 5-4 in section play. They have secured a spot in the playoffs.
The Highlanders play away at 6 p.m. Thursday against Uniontown High School.
