The divisional round football playoffs in the AFC will feature big matchups between great teams, with the Chiefs taking on the Texans and then the Ravens facing the Bills.
The Chiefs’ offense is usually the power of the team, but this year it has been different. The defense has carried the team – they are top 10 this year, while the offense isn’t even top 15.
Kansas City has beaten some of the best teams this year, only losing to the Bills and the Broncos. They lost to the Broncos because they played no starters, and they lost to the Bills simply because they were outplayed.
The Texans went 10-7, losing multiple games by blowouts, and they already lost to the Chiefs this year. They have had a better-ranked defense, being ranked sixth. Their offense is not even top 20.
The Texans are a great young team, but they are playing Patrick Mahomes after a bye week. No one ever wins in that situation.
As for the other matchup, earlier this year the Bills did lose to the Ravens in a regular-season blowout. The Bills played terribly defensively and they couldn’t stop Derrick Henry.
The Ravens have the best offense in the league with one of the better defenses, being ranked 10th. They have been great all year, but they are playing the second seed on the road. The Ravens also have one of the worst ranked passing defenses in the league, and the Bills are great at moving the ball through the air.
The Ravens are a great team, but they will not be able to handle Buffalo’s stadium environment and quarterback Josh Allen’s arm.
