The boys and girls swim teams lost to Woodland Hills on Thursday night.
Sophomore Alexis Bendel thought the Baldwin swimmers performed well despite losing.
“I believe that everyone on the team put up a great fight during the meet,” Bendel said.
Junior Katie Gruendler competed particularly well for the Highlanders, Bendel said.
“Katie stood out during her 500, and she ended up placing first for us,” she said.
The Baldwin teams are working on continual improvement. The mental aspect of the sport is one area of focus, she said.
“We just need to push through things mentally, but overall we’ve had good improvement over the season,” Bendel said.
The team next competes at an away meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Shaler.
