The Baldwin unified bocce team defeated Thomas Jefferson 4-0 on Tuesday.
Senior Sami Niggel said junior Becca Wilds stood out for the Highlanders.
“She did really well with her rolls and with helping her teammates,” Niggel said.
Wilds was unable to make it to the first game of the season. But despite being nervous, she did well on Tuesday, Niggel said.
“Yesterday’s second match was especially nerve wracking,” Niggel said. “The score was very close until the last frame, and there were a few points that we got by an inch or less.”
Baldwin has been seeing considerable improvement on the accuracy of its rolls.
“The team put forth their all and it really paid off,” Niggel said.
The Highlanders need to continue working on improving accuracy and communication during matches.
The team’s next game is away on Monday against West Mifflin.
