The Baldwin girls basketball team handily defeated Uniontown Area on Tuesday night, 83-13.
Sophomore Ava Kelly said the team has improved as the season has continued.
“We’ve been way better at working together as a team,” she said.
Kelly said senior Mary Vargo and junior Jules Otto played particularly well for the Highlanders.
“Mary scored a lot of points while Jules was a good point guard,” Kelly said. “It was a really good game for both of them.”
Kelly was surprised at the margin of victory.
“We were doing really well with working together and making a lot of layups,” she said.
Despite the big win, the girls want to continue to work on rebounding.
“The team should get somebody on the ball when the opposite team tries to shoot,” Kelly said.
The next game is away on Friday at 6 p.m. against Bethel Park.
