Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a well-made installment in this series, and fans will love it.
Sonic the Hedgehog is a blue speedy hedgehog and is Sega’s main mascot. He has starred in games, comics, shows, and recently three movies.
The first movie described Sonic’s life on Earth after he was forced to run away from his original home on Mobius. He lived alone for most of his life but eventually found people who cared for him, and he defeated a man named Dr. Ivo Robotnik, who attempted to take his powers.
The second movie was about Sonic wanting to prove he has the potential to be a hero. He found a new friend, Tails, and had to find a powerful object that would give others significant power.
The third movie is like the second movie, introducing a fan-favorite character in the Sonic franchise: Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow escapes from prison and wants revenge on GUN, an international military and security organization.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles attempt to fight him, but he easily overpowers them. The rest of the movie is about trying to stop Shadow, Dr. Robotnik, and Robotnik’s grandfather from destroying GUN.
The story is well done, and while the plot is cliched like the other two movies, it isn’t an exact copy-and-paste. The story is also based on Sonic Adventures 2, arguably one of the best games ever by the Sonic franchise.
Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey throughout the three movies, makes the movie funny. There are also many references to other games and popular fan-made animations, such as Snapcube.
Overall the movie is phenomenal, and while it’s not the best place to start for newcomers to the Sonic franchise, viewers who don’t know much will be fine.
