Senior Ramil Islamov won his 3rd Bo Woods wrestling tournament and reached 119 match wins over the weekend.
“I felt like this was one of my better tournaments,” Islamov said. “I did not really have any challenges throughout my matches, and I was able to stay on my attacks and score a lot of points.”
Islamov, wrestling in the 145-pound weight class, knows it is key to have full focus in these tournaments.
“In every match, I always go in with a strong mindset, no matter who or where I am wrestling,” Islamov said. “This is really important to my success in every tournament.”
For Islamov, the Bo Woods tournament at Indiana High School has been a scene of repeated success.
“It feels great to get my third first place here, but I have to stay focused and go on to the next tournaments one by one,” Islamov said.
The wrestling team’s next match is against Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
