Baldwin’s ice hockey team lost 6-1 to Penn-Trafford on Thursday.
Junior Nate Buys scored the lone goal for Baldwin in the second period on the power play.
Senior Teegan Berry said it was close for a while, but Penn-Trafford ran away with the game after they got their fourth goal.
“We wanted to come back from the small break we had and get a win against the best team in our division,” Berry said.
Penn-Trafford was able to get the upper hand by converting on their odd-man breaks.
“We need to improve our defense as a team and communicate better in the defensive zone,” Berry said.
He added that despite the loss, the Highlanders did well executing plays off of face-offs. Junior Mack Dempsey stood out, winning a lot of battles and creating offensive chances, he said.
This loss drops Baldwin’s record to 3-8-2.
Their next game is on Monday at Fox Chapel.
