The Baldwin bowling team swept Neighborhood Academy on Friday.
Their victory was by 1,500 pins and gave the Highlanders their second straight win as the season gets underway.
Senior Nico Puglin was pleased with their team’s performances.
“Our team is playing great to start the season,” Puglin said.
Senior Kelson Kleinhampl said several bowlers stood out for Baldwin.
“Jon Clemons played very well,” Kleinhampl said. “Nico Puglin also did well, and he bowled a 232.”
Puglin agreed with Kleinhampl about Clemons’s performance.
“Jon Clemons stood out because he was the most consistent and bowled the highest series,” Puglin said.
Even with the dominant performance, Kleinhampl still sees areas where the Highlanders can improve.
“I think we could be more consistent with our spares,” Kleinhampl said.
Puglin said Neighborhood Academy had a tight-knit team.
“I thought they all had a super close bond,” Puglin said. “They were really supportive of each other throughout the match.”
Both Puglin and Kleinhampl were pleased with their personal performances. Puglin maintained
a 170 average and Kleinhampl maintained a 183 average across the three games.
Baldwin’s next match is Wednesday against Bishop Canevin.
