The ice hockey team defeated Canon-McMillan 2-1 at Ice Castle on Thursday night.
Senior Teagan Berry was happy with the win.
“Our defense did a great job of keeping the puck away from the goal, and the guys on offense kept the puck down on Canon-McMillan’s side of the ice,” Berry said.
Senior Jeremy Pollard and Nate Buys scored for Baldwin. Senior goalie Austin Landosky said that Buys’ goal was what won the game for them.
“When we scored that second goal in the third period, that got us the lead,” Landosky said.
Berry complimented Landosky for one of the highlights of the game.
“Austin had a good sliding save, which definitely was a big play from our defense,” Berry said.
Landosky said the Highlanders played good defense this game, but some aspects of their defensive line could still be improved. Berry, meanwhile, said the team could boost its production on offense.
“We can always improve the offensive side of things at practice for future games,” Berry said.
The team’s current record is 3-5-1. Their next game is on the road on Thursday against Armstrong High School.
