The hockey team rallied to defeat Canon McMillan 6-4 on Tuesday night.
The Highlanders scored the first four goals, but Canon-Mac came back to tie the game early in the third period. Baldwin broke the tie, though, and added an empty-netter for the 6-4 win.
Mack Dempsey got a hat trick to lead the team. Also scoring for Baldwin were seniors Gabe Herrle, Teegan Berry, and Jeremy Pollard.
Senior Logan Cramer said Dempsey played a particularly strong game.
“I think Mack Dempsey played a good two-way game, stopping them defensively and notching a hat trick,” Cramer said.
Dempsey shared credit with his teammates.
“I think I worked really well with my linemates and finished on my chances to score,” he said.
The victory was a real team effort, Cramer said.
“As a team, we just want to support each other and play as hard as we can for the team. Our support and friendship on the team encourages us to play better in the long run,” Cramer said.
The Highlanders will travel to take on Bishop McCort in Johnstown on Thursday.
