Baldwin’s esports team won their Rocket League match 3-0 against Minersville Area High School from eastern Pennsylvania on Thursday.
Coach Nathan Elias said the Highlanders did well on defense, “only allowing two goals over the entire series. We did well to keep possession and not allow shots from our opposition.”
There were other factors that led to the victory as well, Elias said.
“Controlling the pace of play was what led to our win overall. We did well to keep possession and keep control of the boost pads, making it hard for our opponents to stop our plays,” he said.
Elias complimented Gavin Recker on his performance on both offense and defense.
“He had six goals, two saves, and four assists across the three matches, leading in each category,” Elias said.
Baldwin has qualified for the playoffs. The first round will take place next month.
