Don Toliver’s Psycho Tour brought the rage to Pittsburgh last Sunday, and it was a show worth seeing.
While PPG Paints Arena was not sold out for his show, Toliver still delivered the energy and music performance that fans were looking forward to. Toliver released Hardstone Psycho over the summer, and fans were very pleased with the album.
Toliver’s stage was smartly designed, as it allowed anyone to see him due to the multiple levels that he climbed up while performing. More impressive was the fact that The Globe of Death, a common circus stunt involving motorcycles driving upside down and around a steel ball, was located on top of the stage. During “Bandit,” Toliver brought out professional motorcyclists who performed the stunt as he sang.
The concert included performances of Toliver’s most popular songs, such as “No Idea,” “Too Many Nights,” and “After Party.” Overall, Toliver had a great stage performance and was paired perfectly with exploding pyrotechnics, which added hype to the performance of songs like “Field Trip” and “Tore Up.”
The show was stopped for a period of time as someone got injured in the pit. But Toliver performed for an extended amount of time afterwards, doing justice to his fans. The pit showed no shortage of energy, and fans were even showing support from the nosebleed seats.
Toliver brought three other artists on the road with him: Ski Mask the Slump God, Molly Santana, and Monaleo. All three opening acts were impressive, and Ski Mask specifically helped ramp up the audience to get ready for Toliver.
Overall, Toliver’s show was impressive and brought the energy he wanted to give fans.
