A new group of female pop artists deserve just as much recognition as the big names.
Tate McRae is one such artist, as she is talented both vocally and as a dancer.
McRae, like popular pop artists Sabrina Carpenter and Rodrigo, did not start her career by singing. Instead, she got her first recognition by dancing competitively, even winning the best dancer award twice, in 2013 and 2015, at the Dance Awards.
She uses her talents in dance to make her concerts more entertaining with her intense choreography and equal vocal talents.
She released her most recent album, Think Later, in 2023 and is currently on a worldwide tour. Popular songs on the album include “Greedy” and “Exes.”
Gracie Abrams is another great female pop artist. She has been making her way up 2020, but has just recently reached the popularity she deserves.
Abrams has great lyrical talent and this has made her songs popular on social media, like TikTok.
Her latest album release, The Secret of Us, and even her older albums like Good Riddance (2023) and Minor (2020) have become popular. She is also on a tour for her newest release.
Another breakthrough artist this year was Chappell Roan, who released her second album in 2023. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess got the recognition it deserved this year.
She had a hit song this year as well, with “Good Luck Babe” becoming one of her most popular songs. Roan performed at many live events this past summer, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and the Austin City Limits music festival.
All of these artists have unique concerts and tours, displaying different choreography, sound, and overall theme while still all staying in the pop genre. They are joining the leaders of female pop, Taylor Swift, Billie Eillish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sabrina Carpenter.
