Baldwin’s competitive cheer team earned a bid to nationals at Disney on Sunday.
The Baldwin cheer team competed on Sunday at the UCA regional competition. The gameday team placed second in their division and the mat/traditional team placed third. Those performances earned both teams a bid to the national competition, which will take place in Disney in February.
“We worked as a team throughout our whole performance,” junior Carly Dowhy said. “I think we all did well in the competition and fought for each other.”
During the performance, the team did really well on their tumbling, she said.
Even though the team put up a good performance, there is still room for improvement.
“The only thing I think we have to work on is our partner stunts,” Dowhy said.
