Baldwin’s Rocket League esports team defeated Trinity on Thursday, 3-1.
In the best-of-five series, Baldwin won the first two games, 3-2 and 3-2. The Highlanders then lost the third game, 3-2 in overtime, but won the fourth and final game, 2-0.
Coach Nathan Elias thought Baldwin’s defense did well.
“I thought the team did well on defense, and generally defended well,” Elias said. “They were mostly the reason that we won the games that we did.”
Junior Braydon Parker stood out in particular, he said.
“Braydon Parker had the best performance for the team, scoring the majority of our goals,” Elias said.
Baldwin still has some things to improve on.
“The team still needs to work on communication, as there were a number of times that multiple players committed for hits and left themselves out of position,” Elias said.
The Rocket League team plays again next Thursday. The opponent has not yet been determined.
