The Baldwin girls volleyball team got swept by Upper St. Clair on Thursday night.
Junior Ashley Skowronski said the team can clean things up on the mental side of the game.
“We could improve on our IQ as a team, because making smarter plays would help us compete against better teams,” Skowronski said.
Skowronski added that St. Clair’s ball placement played a big factor in their win.
“They knew all of the open spots on our defense and hit them all perfectly,” Skowronski said.
Despite the loss, Skowronski said the team competed well throughout the sets.
“We adjusted well to the other team and learned their hitting tendencies,” Skowronski said. “We also kept our energy up, which led to long rallies, but we weren’t able to win many of them.”
Junior Mia Wyse kept the team in sets throughout the match.
“Mia played well by always putting in max effort and making great plays,” Skowronski said.
The Highlanders take on Mt. Lebanon at home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
