Girls tennis loses to Seneca Valley

The girl’s varsity tennis team lost 5-0 to Seneca Valley on Wednesday.

“We did well,” junior Ava Faust said. “We lost, but it was still good gameplay.”

Seneca Valley plays in a higher division than Baldwin, Faust said. Considering that, the team played well, she said.

“It was close,” senior Anna Lis said. “It wasn’t like we were getting swamped the whole time.”

Seneca Valley pulled ahead toward the end of the match, Lis said. The Highlanders could not catch up once Seneca got ahead.

In preparation for their next match, the girls plan to work on returning the balls and volleying better at the net. The team is striving to stay positive and hopefully win more matches, said Faust.

The next match is on Monday at home against Mt. Lebanon.
