Harris represents America’s future

The argument that won the presidency for Donald Trump in 2016 was that he would “make America great again.” Even after his four years in office, “MAGA” continues to define the Trump campaign.

But America is already great. The country does not need to be taken back to a time when all Americans were not guaranteed rights.

America has always been about making one’s own choices. Vice President Kamala Harris has always supported this ideal.

Harris knows what the American people want, and her policies reflect that. She represents the future of America, not just straight, white, cis-gender men.

On the issue of abortion, The New York Times has outlined the  candidates’ views.

Harris has stated several times that an abortion ban would not only be bad policy and a failure to represent the American people, but also “immoral,” as she said in the recent presidential debate.

Trump says his plan for the future of abortion rights is to give more power to the states. But in reality, his approach is an extreme play to take away a woman’s right to her own body.

Harris has also presented the best policy on gun control in politics today.

As a gun owner herself, Harris does not seek to take away Americans’ guns. However, she is of the belief that citizens do not need to own an automatic weapon.

Harris also proposes a two-part plan to prevent gun violence through the greater use of red flag laws. These laws let family members or law enforcement get a court order to temporarily take away gun access from people who could hurt themselves or others.

This is an example of how Harris has actual policies and plans for the country – not simply “concepts of a plan,” as Trump has said in describing his ideas about health care.

Trump is a convicted criminal who has been handed money and success on a silver platter from birth. He has fumbled so badly that he is most known for inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol and for having his previous vice president turn against him.

Harris, meanwhile, is a former prosecutor and senator with a long history of  feminism, environmentalism, and supporting the American people.

As was made clear by the presidential debate in September, Harris is the only option for all Americans.

Trump will improve Americans’ lives

Donald Trump is a businessman, a billionaire, and a former president, so his economic plan for the country deserves consideration.

The economy is a divisive topic. The right says it’s in shambles, but the left says it’s great. The truth, as always, is somewhere in between. Inflation is still higher than it was when Trump left office, but is down from its peak of 8.3 percent in 2022.

Trump plans to implement tariffs, making it more profitable for companies to bring manufacturing back to the United States. This will create more jobs and help drive down inflation. He also plans to cut excess government spending and cut taxes for everyone, especially service workers.

In the area of foreign policy, Trump says he will restore peace in the Middle East, strengthen the military, create a missile defense system around America, and fight to keep the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency. All of these will help ensure peace through the nation’s strength.

Trump plans to work to restrict illegal immigration by restoring all of his previous policies, which had been working until the Biden-Harris Administration struck them down. He plans to deport the millions of people who have illegally come through the border in the past four years.

Illegal immigration has surged under Biden and Harris, although it has dropped more recently.

On the issue of abortion, Trump is dragged through the mud for wanting to “take away abortion rights.” But does he want that? No. Trump points out that the Supreme Court has correctly given the states the authority to decide on abortion laws, and he said he will protect in vitro fertilization.

Regarding gun control, Trump will not infringe on the Second Amendment, and instead will protect it.
