Baldwin ice hockey lost its season-opening game 3-2 to Armstrong in a shootout on Monday.
The three-round shootout featured no goals in the first two rounds, but Armstrong scored in the final round to win the game.
Junior Mack Dempsey saw some room for improvement.
“I think we can play a little more physical,” Dempsey said.
Despite the loss, Dempsey said there were still some good moments for the team.
“Our first goal on the power play was pretty good,” Dempsey said. “We moved the puck really well as a whole team.”
Seniors Jeremy Polland and Logan Cramer both scored for Baldwin.
Dempsey had a good feeling about the upcoming season.
“They were a pretty strong team,” Dempsey said of Armstrong. “We took them close to winning, so I think we should have a good season.”
Their next game is at home next Tuesday against Fox Chapel.
