In his many business endeavors, Thomas meets several rivals. Among them are the Nazi Oswald Mosley, the bureaucrat Inspector Campbell, and the head of the London-Italian mob Darby Sabini. All of them pose various threats to the well being of his family and business.
The show is able to craft together gripping action with emotional scenes to make a multi-dimensional watch with many immersive characters and plotlines. While a crime drama about a gang may not be expected to be very delicate, the show is brilliant in its depiction of sensitive topics such as PTSD and loss.
Along with fantastic writing, the performances truly bring it to life. Among the standouts of the cast are Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, and Helen McCrory.
Overall, the acting and writing of the show make it an entertaining and easy-to-binge series. The show has six seasons, with a movie on the way sometime in 2025. It is available to watch on Netflix.
