The Baldwin boys soccer team lost to West Allegheny on Thursday night, 4-1.
Junior Jackson Presto said the momentum swung early in the second half.
“The turning point of the game happened when West A scored three minutes into the second half to make it a 3-1 game,” Presto said.
The Highlanders struggled in the midfield.
“The midfield wasn’t winning balls out of the air and that set us back,” senior Anthony DiCesaro said.
Presto said West A played well on the outside.
“They played well on the corners. It gave them opportunities to score,” Presto said.
Despite the Highlanders’ loss, they showed some bright spots.
“We created opportunities up top and got it on the frame. The attacking side played well, moving the ball and giving through balls,” DiCesaro said.
Presto said senior Samir Sanyasi played a strong game.
“Samir played well. He scored for us and played with a lot of energy,” Presto said.
The Highlanders will go on the road on Tuesday to take on the Moon Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
