The girls soccer team lost to Peters Township on Wednesday, 6-0.
Sophomore Gianna Harkins was injured about a month ago and has not been participating in the games, but she still showed up for her team to cheer from the sidelines.
Harkins said senior Mary Vargo played particularly well for the Highlanders.
“She just works so hard and she’s always out there giving her best effort,” Harkins said.
The team needs to practice on working more as a unit, and that communication could be better between players, Harkins said.
Senior Mia Beardsley said the team made some good plays but overall could have stood their ground better.
“I think that collectively our midfield has to work better on keeping our marks,” Beardsley said.
The team’s mindset can continue to help moving forward, Harkins said.
“Even though we didn’t finish out strong, we still went into it with a positive take on it,” Harkins said.
The team’s next game is on Monday at home at 7:30 p.m. against Norwin.
