The Baldwin girls volleyball team lost 3-0 to highly rated Canon-Mac on Tuesday night.
Junior libero Ashley Skowronski said Canon-Mac got off to a hot start and never looked back.
“They came out strong in the first set and kept the same intensity throughout the game,” Skowronski said.
The Highlanders need to work on their attack as a whole.
“Our hitting wasn’t the best. It is definitely something we need to practice more,” Skowronski said.
Although the Highlanders got swept, Skowronski thought junior Mia Wyse played well.
“Mia played a good all-around game. Her setting gave our hitters great opportunities to score,” Skowronski said.
Baldwin played a solid defensive game as a whole.
“Our back row played good defense and our middles had some good blocks throughout the game,” Skowronski said.
Skowronski was proud of the way the team played tonight.
“We played one of our better games tonight, but Canon-Mac is one of the best teams in the state,” Skowronski said.
The Highlanders take on the Bethel Park Blackhawks at home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for their senior recognition game.
