The Baldwin boys soccer team lost 3-0 to South Park on Saturday.
Junior Jackson Presto said the team’s motor was down the whole game.
“Our intensity wasn’t there throughout the game. We got off to a slow start and never picked it up,” Presto said.
Presto pointed out that South Park was consistently getting shots on goal.
“They were on our side of the field for most of the game, which tired us out and got them more looks to score,” Presto said.
The Highlanders need to improve on their attack as a whole, he said.
“I feel like we didn’t get enough shots on goal and that was one of the main reasons we lost,” Presto said.
Despite the loss, there were some bright spots in the game.
“Even though they were on our side of the field most of the game, we only gave up three goals, which shows that our defense can be one of the best parts of our team,” Presto said.
Presto said that senior Will Penrod played a good all-around game.
“Will was all over the place on defense, which kept the game close throughout,” Presto said.
The Highlanders go on the road to take on Blackhawk on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
