The Baldwin boys golf team fell to Peters Township 220-189 on Thursday at the Valley Brook Country Club.
The team has some key points to work on for their next match.
“We need to work on capitalizing on our good shots,” junior Zachary Auel said. “We wasted too many opportunities.”
Junior Gavin Sakely agreed.
“We had a strong iron game, but we need to improve off of the tee boxes,” Sakely said. “We also need to work on our individual skills to get into the WPIAL qualifiers.”
Baldwin’s standout golfer was sophomore Michael Quallich.
“Quallich had a good round and the lowest on our team, shooting a 38,” Sakely said.
Auel said that personally, he was able to improve throughout the match.
“My personal performance was definitely not my best,” Auel said. “But I finished a lot stronger than I started.”
Baldwin’s next match is against Mt. Lebanon next Thursday at Mt. Lebanon Golf Course.
