Katy Perry’s 2010 album Teenage Dream has resurfaced on social media apps like TikTok thanks to people reminiscing about the title track in videos.
The album includes some of her hits, like “The One That Got Away” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F).” But most songs on the album are overlooked by teens today.
Songs like “Hummingbird Heartbeat” and “Pearl” display the unique instrumentation of the album as well as the nostalgic and youthful mood of the whole album. Her instrumentals also create unique sounds in songs like “E.T.” and “Circle The Drain.”
Perry’s vocal and lyrical talent in these songs shines through. Her lyrics are not only good for that time, but still relatable to younger fans today.
The album’s title track is back because many people still relate to its juvenile themes. But there are many other great songs on this album that often are overlooked.
