One of Wun, the new album from rapper Gunna, offers solid beats but dry lyrics.
The album is not great, but it is not terrible. The beats are all right but the lyrics and delivery just sound like a regular mumble rapper.
Gunna has written hit songs like “Pushing P” in the past, and many of the songs on One of Wun sound similar. In fact, the majority of the songs on the album sounded significantly alike.
The first three songs of the album, “Collage,” “One of Wun,” and “Neck on a Yacht,” almost sound identical if listeners are not paying much attention.
The album is 57 minutes long with a total of 20 songs. Most of the songs are short, with the majority of the songs being between two to three minutes long. But the final song on the album, “Time Reveals, Be Careful What You Wish For,” is over six minutes long.
The album has four different features, from Offset, Roddy Ricch, Normani and Leon Bridges. None of the songs that have a feature are amazing, and the features do not make a difference to the quality of the songs.
Overall, the album is not great, although fans of newer rap styles might want to check it out.
