Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sports columnist Jason Mackey sat down with Purbalite staff members on Wednesday to discuss his job covering the Pittsburgh sports scene.
Mackey previously covered the Penguins and Pirates as a beat reporter. Now he writes columns on both of those teams as well as the Steelers, area college teams, and anything else from the world of sports that would interest readers. He also frequently appears on sports radio stations and podcasts.
After the classroom discussion, Mackey sat down with Purbalite sportswriters Connor Boros, Kevin Hutchinson, Nico Macurak, Emma Powell, and Zach Wiatrowski as a guest on the Purb Take podcast. Mackey and the Purbalite writers discussed the many challenges facing Pittsburgh’s pro teams.
