The Baldwin baseball team lost to Mount Lebanon 9-1 on Tuesday.
The Highlanders let up four runs in the first inning and the Blue Devils never looked back.
“They found the gaps with most of their hits and had smart, aggressive baserunning,” senior Bryce Jones said.
Baldwin also had only three hits, which disappointed senior Adam Ledbetter.
“We have to get the bats going,” he said. “We don’t want to end this season without showing the real talent we have.”
He also thinks that the team has to clean it up when they are in the field, since Baldwin made two errors in the game.
“You just can’t win games without making plays for the pitcher,” he said. “We have to back him up and not let up nine runs in a game.”
Despite the tough loss, Jones thought some Highlanders did play well.
“Dylan Hartman had a good pitching performance even though he came out a little shaky,” Jones said. “Adam Ledbetter had a hit and a walk with a couple of plays at second.”
Baldwin’s record is now 1-16 overall and 0-13 in the section. The Highlanders play next on Thursday at Mt. Lebo at 4 p.m.
