Baldwin’s softball team fell to North Allegheny 6-5 in the final inning of Wednesday night’s game.
Sophomore Jordan Gerendash credited North Allegheny with playing a solid overall game.
“I think they played good defense, and in the last inning they did really well offensively,” Gerendash said.
Sophomore Kenzie Bowen said the Highlanders responded well to North Allegheny’s batting with strong hits of their own, with sophomore Reese Temme hitting a home run.
But the hitting could have been more timely, Gerendash said.
“I think we could’ve strung more hits together with each other. We just hit here and there,” she said.
Senior pitcher Anna Schumacher played well, Gerendash said, and there were other strong points for the Highlanders.
“We improved on our defense by limiting errors,” Bowen said.
The team’s next game is today at 4:30 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon.
