The Baldwin girls softball team lost 2-0 against Seneca Valley on Thursday.
Senior Keira Platz said that her team played well on defense.
“We had good defense throughout the game. The other team’s pitcher did a really good job,” Platz said.
Sophomore Mackenzie Bowen agreed.
“Seneca Valley is a strong hitting team, and we shut them down and kept them from scoring,” Bowen said.
Platz complimented teammates junior Kaylee Smolko and sophomore Reese Temme for their performance in the game.
“Kaylee did a good job getting the ball in play. Reese had a really good throw from center field to throw the girl out at home,” Platz said.
However, Bowen added that the team can improve on batting.
“We need to hit better. We do well in working the count, but we just have to finish it and have a better mentality at the plate,” Bowen said.
Platz agrees and hopes the team’s morality stays high.
“We need to do a better job of getting on base in general. I hope we can keep competition high and pick up more wins,” Platz said.
The girls play against Pine-Richland today at 5 p.m. at home for their senior rec match.
