The boys volleyball team defeated Peters Township 3 sets to 2 on Tuesday. This win puts the team at 6-6 overall and 2-3 in their section.
There were some positive takeaways for the Highlanders that led them to their victory.
“The team fought through adversity and responded well when things didn’t always go our way,” senior Durwin Fuller said.
Junior Brayden Gremba thought the Highlanders brought the offense.
“We swung really well and had a lot of good kills,” Gremba said.
A number of Baldwin players had particularly good games.
“Bibeak Bhujel had a solid overall performance,” Fuller said.
“Alex Kelly played extremely well,” Gremba said. “He had a lot of kills throughout the game.”
Despite the win, the Highlanders did face some challenges.
“We had many errors – specifically service errors,” Fuller said.
Their opponents put up a fight as well..
“Peters played very well overall,” Gremba said. “They did not make as many errors as I expected them to.”
Going into the next game, the team plans to improve communication and energy on the court, Fuller added.
Their next game is at home against Seneca Valley on Monday at 7:15 pm.
