The girls softball team lost 21-3 to Canon-McMillan on Wednesday night.
The Big Macs got off to a hot start, scoring nine runs in the first two innings, which proved insurmountable for the Highlanders.
Senior Anna Schumacher acknowledged how good Canon-McMillan’s hitters are.
“They are just a really good hitting team and they proved it during the game,” Schumacher said.
Despite the loss, sophomore Reese Temme played well for Baldwin.
“Reese hustled the entire game and never gave up no matter, how much we were down by,” Schumacher said.
Senior Keira Platz said the team needs to work on their hitting going forward.
“We just need to work on our hitting as the season goes on and get more practice against slow and fast pitchers,” Platz said.
The girls play their next game on Friday against Butler.
