Quiet on Set is a new documentary series about the dark secrets of the kids TV channel Nickelodeon. Many Nickelodeon actors from the ’90s and 2000s have come out with allegations of toxic experiences while working for the channel.
Most of these allegations focus on Dan Schneider, a former actor who ended up creating many of the network’s top shows.
The first episode starts off with former writers from the show All That talking about their experiences with Schneider. Christy Stratton and Jenny Kilgen allege sexual assault and gender discrimination, which ended in a lawsuit that only settled the gender argument.
In the fourth episode of the docu-series, Drake Bell from Drake and Josh talks about his childhood on the show. Bell was sexually assaulted by the former dialogue coach for Nickelodeon, Brian Peck, and Peck was convicted.
Bell said Peck also manipulated him, while he was working on The Amanda Show, into believing that Peck was more important in his life than his own parents. He struggles to talk about the sexual assault. Bell’s father also speaks in the episode, explaining how hard the experience has been.
The series is available on the ID network and Max.
