The Hixtape albums have been created by country artist Hardy, and they present a mix of country and rap. In Volume 3, all of the songs are a tribute to Joe Diffie.
The album features songs, covered by different artists, that were written by Diffie before he passed away in 2020.
Among the 17 reimagined Diffie classics, the track “Life Had Plans For Me” is an unreleased original created in 2006. Diffie’s son, Parker Diffie, collaborates with Hardy on this song.
Previewed at the CMA awards, the track “Pickup Man” by Morgan Wallen and Post Malone goes to show how strong Diffie’s lyrics are. This is also Malone’s first introduction to the country music world.
The album also features the last vocals recorded by Toby Keith, who passed away in February. The song “Ships Don’t Come In,” features Keith, Luke Combs, and Diffie creating a memorable last song from him.
Other artists on the album include Koe Wetzel, Darius Rucker, John Pardi, Lainey Wilson, and more.
Overall, Hardy is able to bring back Diffie’s songs with amazing covers for listeners to discover.
