The Baldwin boys volleyball team shut out Mt. Lebanon in three sets on Thursday.
The Highlanders dominated in all three sets, winning the first one 25-6, the second one 25-13, and the final set 25-18.
The players had many positives to talk about following the victory.
“We had very minimal mistakes and went into the game knowing what we needed to do,” sophomore Brayden Gremba said.
Senior Durwin Fuller said the defense was strong.
“We had almost no errors or miscommunication mistakes,” Fuller said.
Gremba cited Fuller’s strong play as one key to the victory.
“Durwin stood out during the game because he had a few really good kills,” Gremba said.
Fuller, meanwhile, complimented junior Dip Thapa.
“Dip Thapa played his first varsity minutes and played amazing defense,” Fuller said.
The team will look to boost their accuracy in its next game, Fuller said.
“Our next game is going to be very different because USC is a better overall team and we need to come prepared,” Gremba said.
The win puts the team’s overall record at 2-3. Their next game is at 7 p.m. at home against Upper Saint Clair.
